About Our Dog Kennel
serving the Edinboro & Meadville, PA Area
Just a short drive from Saegertown, Meadville, and Cambridge Springs, and Edinboro, PA, Bed & Board at Shoalwater Kennel is here for your pet boarding needs. Our kennel was originally started in September of 1983 by the mother/daughter team of Mary Preston and Garnett Persinger. At that time, we were known as Shoalwater Kennel, using the name Shoalwater as the prefix for the dog breeding we did, and Mary had a boarding kennel in Washington state under the same name.
The pair had raised and bred many dogs during the course of their careers, and they both wanted to provide safe, competent care for precious furry companions while their owners were away on vacation, business trips, or other events. When Mary passed away, she left Shoalwater Kennel in Garnett’s very capable hands. Garnett then renamed the facility Bed & Board at Shoalwater Kennel to reflect the spa-like atmosphere.
GARNETT PERSINGER
Over the course of Garnett’s professional career, she has owned and operated several kennels and grooming shops. She has also raised, bred, and shown numerous breeds of dogs over the last 50 years. Garnett has finished over 25 dog show championships, several obedience titles, and hunting titles, and has also bred several top winning German Wirehair Pointers.
